Kentucky was one of the first state tourism offices in the nation to develop a marketing program aimed at the group travel sector.

The Group Travel Branch markets to the motorcoach industry both through established associations and organizations, and on an individual basis. Staff work directly with tour planners on itineraries throughout the year and serve as liaison between tour planners and Kentucky destinations, attractions and hotels. The branch also assists private sector organizations with group travel promotions and domestic sales missions.

Group Travel staff organizes familiarization (fam) tours for selected tour operators, group leaders and AAA. These tours are alternated in different regions across the state to familiarize participants with what Kentucky has to offer for their clients.
